  • By Urvann

The best way to make your house extra classy and stylish is by adding the beauty of plants to your place. Investing a few amounts in fresh and attractive plants is totally worth it. Both the interior and exterior of your place deserve the aura of green that is eye-catchy and pleasing for everyone.

Now you must be wondering about the best kind of plants for that purpose. Well! There are many, but our personal favorite is the succulent plants. If you are a plant lover and do believe that plants make a huge difference in your decor, then succulents are a must-have. We aren't saying this because you can easily buy succulent plants online. There are plenty of reasons for the same.

Let's talk about succulent plants in a little more detail.

What are succulents?

Succulents are plants that have thick, fleshy leaves or stems that store water. They come in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and colors, and are relatively easy to care for. These are home decor plants that can even be used as groundcover or in hanging baskets.

This trait allows them to breathe comfortably even in hot regions like desserts.

What are the Different Types of Succulent Plants?

Aeonium Succulents

Aeoniums are characterized by their rosette-shaped leaves and their ability to store water in their leaf tissue. They are popular plants for use in gardens and as houseplants. They are easy to care for and are tolerant of drought and extended periods of dryness. Aeoniums require well-drained soil and bright, indirect light. They can be susceptible to root rot if they are watered too frequently or if the soil is too wet.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a hardy plant and can be grown easily at home with minimum care. It requires very little water to survive. In fact, overwatering the plant can lead to its death. Hence, it is important to water the plant only when the soil is dry to touch.

The plant thrives in well-drained sandy or loamy soil. Add some organic matter to the soil to improve its quality.Place the plant in an area that receives ample sunlight. However, make sure that the plant is not exposed to direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.

English Ivy Succulent

English ivy (Hedera helix) is a fast-growing, evergreen vine that is often used as a ground cover or to cover walls and other structures. It is a very versatile plant that can be grown in a wide range of conditions. The leaves of English ivy are variable in shape but are usually lobed or heart-shaped. They are dark green in color and have a leathery texture. The leaves are arranged in opposite pairs on the stem. The leaves are attached to the stem by means of a small stalk (petiole). The flowers of English ivy are small and greenish-white in color. They are borne in clusters (umbels) at the leaf axils. The flowers are followed by small, fleshy, black berries.

Jovibarba Succulent

Jovibarba are low-growing, mat-forming succulents. The leaves are fleshy and vary in color from green to purple. The flowers are small and white, borne on clusters at the tips of the leaves. Jovibarba are easy to grow and make excellent houseplants. They are drought tolerant and can be tolerant of brief periods of wetness. They prefer full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil.

How to Take Care of Succulent Plants?

Succulent plants are one of the easiest types of plants to take care of. They are very forgiving, and can survive in a wide range of conditions. Here are a few tips on how to take care of succulent plants:

  1. Light: Most succulents need bright, direct sunlight to thrive. If you are growing them indoors, place them near a south-facing window. If they are outdoors, make sure they are in a sunny spot.
  2. Water: One of the biggest mistakes people make with succulents is overwatering them. These plants are very drought tolerant, and only need to be watered every week or two. When you do water, make sure to thoroughly soak the soil, and then allow it to dry out completely before watering again.
  3. Soil: Succulents need well-draining soil in order to thrive. You can either buy a special succulent mix, or make your own by mixing together equal parts sand, perlite, and potting soil.
  4. Fertilizer: Succulents don't need a lot of fertilizer, but if you want to give them a little boost, use a diluted liquid fertilizer every few weeks during the growing season.
  5. Pests: Succulents are relatively resistant to pests, but mealybugs and aphids can be a problem. If you see pests on your plants, treat them with an insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Succulents are the best home decor plants that you can get online. With a little care, they can be a great addition to your home or garden.
