It’s Our Birthday Today: 3 Incredible Years of Delivering Greenery

Urvann was just a seed of an idea three years ago, a small dream that has since blossomed into a flourishing online plant nursery. Today, as we celebrate our third anniversary, we want to reflect on our journey, our achievements, and the incredible community that has supported us every step of the way.

"It was the biggest risk of our lives, but my love and vision for gardening and spreading the message of sustainability was even bigger," says Sambhav Jain, one of the co-founders of Urvann, along with Akansha Gupta. 

Urvann was born out of a simple love for plants. We just wanted to make greenery accessible to everyone. With the growing concrete world around us, we aim to turn the urban home into a ‘Vann’ or a forest, hence the name ‘Ur-Vann’.

From Humble Beginnings to a Thriving Green Organization

Sambhav has been a passionate gardener for the past 15 years. His world is painted in shades of flora and fauna. This deep-rooted passion led him to realise the need to educate people about the numerous benefits of being connected to Mother Nature. He is on a mission to enlighten people and help them create their little gardens amidst the growing far-from-nature world around us. He personally delivered the first order to our customer’s doorstep, a gesture that symbolises our commitment and care. 

Meanwhile, Akanksha comes from a family that nurtured a deep love for gardening. It is where she got her green instincts, promptly understanding why a particular plant seemed worn out or the first one to spot a bug. She understood the need to reach the country's massive population and transform homes into virtual spaces of nature. 

“We were just two people heading for a massive change and a challenge. We left our well-established jobs behind and started from scratch to build our dream”, she says with a beautiful smile. 

Three years later, we have expanded our operations to more than seven cities, covering almost 350 pin codes and a happy base of approximately 300,000+ customers who have made their homes green, beautiful, and filled with a calmness that only comes from being close to Mother Nature.

The journey to becoming the country's number one choice for online plant shopping and delivering 10000+ plants daily has been filled with learnings and many situations that were tackled as they came along. 

We are a growing team of 500+ people, including our in-office employees, nursery, and delivery partners. These people are our backbone and the reason we have such happy customers. 

From our founders personally visiting every nursery in the beginning, ensuring credibility and assurance of quality, to establishing the company's brand name in the market, Urvann has just begun.
