Do you like the plants that give a peaceful vibe even after being placed in the corner of the room? We love them too. Today, we are about to tell you the phenomena that you will repeatedly read in our blogs - Feng Shui. The concept of feng shui is very old and tells a lot about a plant. It is an ancient Chinese practice that is primarily focused on arranging living spaces in a way that creates harmony for both humans and the spaces they create for themselves.

.

What is Feng Shui?

If we break the term Feng Shui, then it comes down to Feng, meaning wind, and Shui, meaning water. These are amongst the most vital ingredients that create a balanced and prosperous life. Whereas Chi or Qi, is the energy that can affect the various aspects of life (health, wealth, etc)after we arrange our homes. Overall, the sole aim of feng shui is to harness positive energy for the well-being of the home.

.

Key principles of Feng Shui

Now, like any other philosophy, Feng Shui is also based on some core principles. Let’s have a brief look at them before diving into the plants that  fit best in these:

The Bagua Map:

The term Bagua translates to areas/ regions in Chinese. It is a tool which is used in feng shui to analyse fields of energy according to nine life aspects. These nine aspects are career, relationships, Reputation, Knowledge, family, health, family, wealth and travel.

Each section is associated with a specific area of your life and corresponds to a direction (north, south, east, west) or an element (wood, fire, earth, metal, water).

The Five Elements

It’s where the true magic starts. Feng Shui principles also incorporate the five elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—each of which represents specific qualities. By balancing these elements in your space, you can foster the right environment for growth and prosperity.

Chi (Energy Flow)

We know Chi or Qi as the energy that flows in all the spaces around the household. As per Feng Shui, it is recognized as a life force that builds a smooth flow. In contrast to this, the cluttered, tight spaces or the sharp angles can disrupt the flow and contribute to negative energy.

Yin and Yang

It is a concept that clearly states the balance of the opposite whether it’s light or dark, hark or soft, quiet or loud. This concept of feng shui strongly cites to find a balance between the forces in the space and makes sure neither one feels too chaotic or stagnant.

Being a plant lover or just the one who wants some changes in the house, it’s time that you create an environment which brings a positive change into life.

Lucky Bamboo

It’s one of the most popular plants for gifting purposes. Lucky bamboo is primarily known for its feng shui benefit of being a good luck plant in one’s home. Where bamboo represents wood, water is represented by the water we add to it, it even contains the soil and air element, red ribbon around the bamboo represents the fire element. Above all, it’s even one of our favourite choices.
